Lowercase has been crafting eyewear in Brooklyn since 2016, and we’ve kept everything close to home ever since. Every frame is made in our own factory using premium imported materials chosen for their strength, comfort, and durability.

Our inspiration is undeniable. Every shape, every color, every cut is pulled from the streets, buildings, neighborhoods, and landmarks that define New York City. The architecture. The skyline. The corners you only notice if you live here. And yes, even the names come straight from the city.

That independence lets us obsess over the details, stay true to our vision, and keep every design unmistakably New York. Keeping everything close means we remain hands-on at every step. Each optical frame and sunglass is shaped, assembled, and finished with care. No long supply chains. Just real craftsmanship.

OBE German engineered hinges: Our five-barrel rivet hinges are engineered in Germany by OBE, known for durability and smooth movement. They open cleanly, close securely, and hold up over time.

Hand polished Italian acetate: Hand-polished, hypoallergenic, and designed to adjust naturally over time, it settles in comfortably and keeps its shape. The more you wear it, the better it feels.

Carl Zeiss sun lenses: When it comes to lenses, we don’t experiment. Our Carl Zeiss sun lenses are tested for clarity, performance, and full UV protection. Sharp optics. Reliable protection. No compromises between style and function.
